If anyone is interested, here are some photos of the robot platform, wheels
and motors we are working on. Wheels are Wal-Mart Razor scooter type stuff,
motors are from Jameco, the encoder wheels were swiped form work, the
casters came from a local supply house, and the rest was fabricated
in-house. The base is 0.190 aluminum plate, the motor mounts are 1.5" x
0.125 aluminum angle and the wheel hubs are machined from 1" round aluminum
stock.

The game plan is to use a Basic Stamp 2sx, two MotorMinder B's and whatever
optical sensors we can scrounge to get it up and running. We will probably
start off with whiskers or bump switches then add some sort of ultrasonic or
infra-red sensors later.
