There are many links at the end of the FAQ too.

search for the different projects/tutorials.
Find something you think is cool, see if Parallax has done it, and
printed the enitre project out. They have lots of projects 'in the
can' Each is a building block.
Once you feel comofortable in lighting LED's and changing buzzers
pitch and stuff and you get some personal goal, control you swimming
pool maybe? try it out.
Keep reading this site and ask any foolish questions you want, lord
knows we all had asked which end is the postiive end of a resistor at
one time. Besides, really dumb questions allow the guru's to show
off and us beginners to feel like we already passed that milestone.
One word of advice, it's better to ask a foolish question than make
a foolish mistake.
A second word of advice, if you have a question that you feel might
be really dumb, search this list. Someone probably had asked it. (or
many people asked it many times) There are some really great
questions and really great responses on here.
