I had been working with the stamp for a while, i think that the
possibilities for it are amazing... What i am not very conftrable
with is the basic compiler it uses or interpreter or whatever... I
dont like the idea of wasting lines on simple conversions that since
gwbasic where possible for instance an integer to a string or vice
versa, for instance the lack of a case command, which is redundant to
if's but it makes code lots of cleaner. I think that the pbasic
compiler its in its initial stages and i really dont know how to
program in C or Assambly, i am just not that good yet... I am looking
for a little more power in a compiler and i recently noticed a post
about an Amtel 8052, and some other dallas semi micro's, but i am
really confused with these options, since i am also not that good at
electronics, i guess i am a little scared of what it means to change
to an 8052 micro and the several options of compilers that are out
there.... Ok, so i got my new micro 8052 and i got my programmer and
my proto board, what next???? Can i instantly change a pin to be a
serial com without any aditional hardware??? is there a basic stamp
like 8052 based????, can i for instance send DTMF codes, X10 codes
(Which i dont really need) but its kind of cool to have them... So i
guess i am a little confused do to the lack of information i had
found, they all want to sell me a beginers kit, but i dont know what
i am buying!, am i going to get that stuff, just to know that i need
to put some stuff in between pin three and my serial lcd, just to use
that pin as a serial port??, Am i going to find out that i will need
to write a bunch of code, and use some hardware to make a led lit on
a leg of the micro????...

Can someone really help me get out of these enigma... I defenetly
need more power but i dont know if i want to sacrifice that power to
just take more time compleating my project making individual
interfaces for every leg i have hooked up to something, like a serial
lcd, a led a button (by the way is there a button command equivalent
in 8052???) Please help...
