Sharing data line with MiniSSC

Hi Stampers;
In a project I am intending to share the MiniSSSC input serial data line
with another device to send back unknown information the Stamp.
The problem is how isolate the MSSC to not be confused and understand
other data sent thru the same line as a new servo position command ?.
I can not guarantee that the another device will not send data that
starts with 255 (sync byte for MSSC) followed by a byte (0- 7)and other
byte (0-254).
Using non-inverted data as baudmode from this device to stamp could be a
RELIABLE solution ?
Thanks for any comments;
