opinions on which board to buy?

I bought some BS2 chips which will be here soon, but I still need a
programmer, etc. Does anyone have an opinion on which board to buy
from parallax? I feel like I should buy a board and the stuff the
first time to make sure I have components that work. After I'm sure
all the parts work then I'll start building my own boards for
projects.
Any thoughts appreciated.

could you detail what you bought?
The BS2 is a complete unit and is preprogrammed. Are you asking what
real world interface you want to use to connect it to?
If that is the question, the Board of Education goes well with the
manual and you get to follow the examples with little effort.
If you bought just the programmed PIC chip, then you need something
like the WEDGE on www.rentron.com for the crystals and stuff.

If you can afford it, go for the NX-1000. It has *everything* on it.
anything. I was wondering about people's opinions on the three boards that
parallax has for sale and on the BOE, they seem to offer two types; one on
their main site and one on the stampsinclass site at a cheaper price.
I'm leaning towards the BOE, but the one with the switches, lights, and X-10
already wired is tempting.
