Problem with RF-link...

Hello!
I can't get my nice RF-kit from Rentron to work properly. I have a
send/receive-radius of about 5 meters, when the spec. says at least 300 feet!?
What can be wrong? Is it the antennas (I use normal isolated wires about 30 cm
as
they say), and I use the "Linear" output of the recieiver. I've read something
about 50 Ohm-antennas, but how do I know this? Can I just measure the resistance
in the wire I use? (it must be impedance they are talking about, cause the
antenna
is a LC-circuit if I'm not wrong?). Is there anything else I should consider?

Take a look at this page showing two Stamps communicating with these RF modules
http://www.rentron.com/Stamp_RF.htm it may help. If you need further assistance,
please email me off-list @ webmaster@r... , and I'll help you get it
working.
For an understanding of how & why antennas work, download the antenna
design-guide
from Linx Technologies here: http://www.linxtechnologies.com/f_applic.html It's
very well
written, and lots of help.
