i'm having some trouble with my stamp. it keeps saying hardware not found
when i'm trying to test the program. i have the scott edwards book with the
cd and i'm running the stamp2.exe from the cd, but i keep getting the error
message, hardware not found.

i've got a working nine volt battery and the plug going into the COM port of
my computer and i don't understand why it isn't working...

any suggestions...???

    i'm typing in

    '{$Stamp BS2}

    debug "hello world"

    Alt-R to run and i keep getting hardware not found error

    and i'm still getting the error message, i don't know what's wrong
    how can i tell if my stamp is damaged?
    is there anything else i can type in as well to test this??

    Did you use the STAMP Directive by putting the following line as the first
    line of your program?

    '{$Stamp BS2}

    If you are using a different stamp, change the type to reflect that. See
    the BASIC Stamp Programming Manual 2.0c, Page 35 for more information.

    Hope this helps...

    Try a fresh Battery- I get the same message when my 9v dips bellow about
    8.1v. the voltage regulator needs a voltage overhead to work properly. It
    usually happens right after I've just added some exotic (for me) new circuit.
    That's when I figure I fried the stamp. Now I check the Battery level with a
    DVM before I start gnashing and wailing.
    I hope this is the problem for you--

    thanks but i tried that already... the battery was at 8.7V so it should still
    be good and i tried it with another one that was at 8.9v so it's not the
    battery level..

    any other suggestions...?

    Did you ever have it working? Your COM port settings might be incorrect.
