Hi relay,
with 8 pins your relay could be a DPCO (double pole change
over) but then again it might be a SPCO (single pole change over) bear in
mind also that a least two of the pins will be for fastening ( to a circuit
board ?)and therefore NC (not connected) Best thing is to identify the
relay's coil contacts first. Use a multimeter, or else take two flying leads
from a 12v supply. The 12v will give you a audible "click" when the two coil
contacts are located. They will be opposite each other. Now the other 4
contacts should be easy to suss out if you again use a meter or else another
pair of flying leads from another battery supply with an LED or bulb in
series. When the coil is activated you will get a light! (or vice-versa)

Happy switching!
