The FIRST STEP should be heading for the Parallax Web site and hit the button
    labelled Getting Started.

The Parallax Stamp carrier boards contains all of the necessary circuitry
and components to permit the Parallax PBASIC Stamp Chips to interface with the
outside world. Various circuits have been designed by Parallax specifically for
this purpose. An entire project can be built right on the carrier boards.

At your option, you may provide a carrier board yourself, or purchase from a
third party. The design of the board is critical to the operation of the PBASIC
    Stamp chips.

That is correct, one would not want to. There is an adapter cable that needs
to be purchased or constructed to interface the PC parallel or serial ports
with the appropriate Stamp carrier board.

Better than that, if you go to the download section on the web site, you
can download all of the documentation, and all of the software that you
    want for
FREE. This is only one of the many benefits of using the Parallax products.
schematics, pictures, manuals, sample programs, and everything you might need
is free for the download : )

    Hope that helps
