Motor acceleration question

Can Stamps2 be programed to accelerate a DC motor using the PWM
commands, or does it require additional software? I would like the
stamps2 to output an accelerated, 0 - 4.5 VDC signal. I should be
able to buffer the output to match a selected motor. Thank you. Dave
