I need help. I am a newbie so take it easy on me :)
I have the BS2, a traxxas speed controller, and a dc motor.
All I am trying to do is get the motor working with the BS2. I have
tried pulsouts toggles and many more, but nothing. The pulse line
form the speed controller is on pin one and the motor is hoocked up to
the speed controller. I am getting nothing at all. I know its in the
code, because the motor will run of a straight battery, the speed
contoller turns on and the BS2 is working fine with everything else.
Can anyone help? How would you right a simple code to make the motor
goooo.

Juggernaut911

If I recognize the name correctly the speed control is an RC car unit? If so
you need to write the code exactly like it was a servo. Look at this file
http://www.parallaxinc.com/downloads/stamps%20in%20class/wam3.pdf it covers
how to drive a servo.

Well the thing is that when I put a regular servo on the stamp it
works just fine, but when I replace the servo with the (R/C) speed
controller and a motor on the same code, nothing happens. Put the
servo on there again it works fine.... speed controller nope :)

you may have a ground problem. most speed controllers the( +) is common
and the (-) is the switched side. the output to the esc is the same as a
servo (+ - signal )but they may be in a different order from the servo.
(red black white) vs (black red white), so be sure you have the (+ - and
signal) on the correct pins. the esc may have to be powered from a
separate battery.

Any chance you happen to have an RC transmitter/receiver handy so you can
verify that the speed control works and also how it works? I have some R/C
plane speed controls that have to be taken all the way to low throttle for a
second of two first before they will arm and function. It is a safety
interlock to keep you from flipping on the receiver switch and having a prop
start turning at full throttle.

Some speed controllers have an optocoupler in the input. This may
require a low impiedance output from the pin. You may try use a
transitor follower as buffer. I alredy have experienced the same problem
before and it was solved with the buffer.
