connecting a 7-segement led to BS

You might try connecting the display to a 7447 driver, using only 3 basic
stamp lines to drive it. Check out
http://www.hcc.hawaii.edu/~richardi/113/c113_2f/2f_2/2f2.htm for more
general display info. You should be able to leave the DP unconnected if you
don't need a decimal point. Using the driver, you simply input a the binary
equivalent of the decimal number you wish to display.

    Hi all

    Thanks for your reply David, but I don't want to use a driver.
    So is it possible to connect the led directly to the BS?

    The led that I'm using is from Radioshack and these are some of its
    specifications:

    Type: ...... S321R

    Maximum Volts (forward): ..... 2 V

    Reverse Voltage : ...... 5 V

    Maximum Amperage (forward): ..... 20 mA

    Wavelength: ......660 nM

    Brightness: ...... 125 micro candlepower

    Material: ....... GaAsP

    Power Dissipation: ...... 100 mW
