switch with a bs2

hello all,

I want to switch a external machine with my bs2. Kind of replace the on/off
switch of this peace of equipment. the current is low, voltage too.

A relais could be perfect for this, bs2 runs the relais, relais contacts
switch the machine. But this is not what i want! Are there other
possibilities? Could i use a optocoupler for instance? or even a transistor?

thanks pieter-jan

Maxim MAX333 is a DIP20 with 4 SPDT switches independently controlled by
    logic pulses.

If the load is AC line powered, you could use a solid-state relay. There
are also solid-state relays for DC switching. If you use the right type,
they can be driven directly from a Stamp output ... they also provide
    isolation.

    Hope this helps,
