Thanks to all who tried to help with the interference problem with the above said items.
The only way to fix it, well two ways, if you have a big enough robot keep the well apart
if not then seal the 6500 in a metal box. If you can't get a hold of any sheet metal as finding a small enough box just to shield the 6500 is not easy, then do as I did and make a box from thin card with a layer of tin foil (baking foil, what ever you call it) use a thin sheet of plastic from an ice cream tub on the base of the box fitted underneath the 6500 board. Then connect a wire from the tin foil box, the wire been held in place with a staple, to the negative supply of your power pack. Hey presto! interference problem sorted.
