Also, if you continue to have problems, contact Parallax. I was having the
exact same problem. Parallax gave me several things to try. None of them
worked, so I shipped my stamp back to them, and they sent me a brand new
one. This one works wonderfully!! You may want to try it. I'm sure they
will test the new chips they send you since you're sending them in once.
That way you also know that you have working stamps.

Hello,

1. make sure that your basic stamp editor has com1 selected ( if so go to
next step)
2. make com1 port of computer is funtional and is indeed your active com
port, before you go trying hardware fixes try using com2 in stamp editor

If those two tips don't work call out the calvary. The Stamp pros will come
to rescue.
