A beginner''s question

Dear Jason,
I have the same setup and it works fine with my laptop running Win98.
You are not getting out to the com port somehow. When you do a "RUN"
command, the arrow on the stamp editor, make sure you look quickly at the
screen and see the com port responding. The 9v battery I don't think is the
problem. Can you try another computer? This will also help isolate the
problem. Good luck, have to get back to the lab and continue programming
