is there any sencer that can read the level of Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
in a small space that i can hookup to either BS1 or BS2?

Be sure to let us know if you find anything, I would really like to find an
affordable sensor for CO2 (all I can find are $1000+).

    Thanks,

The "indoor air quality" people use IR-type CO2 detectors with building
ventilation control systems. They cost $250-500 or so last time I looked.
Telaire and/or Englehardt is a place to start. They probably have a web
site. What resolution and range do you need?

CO2 is a good indicator of human or animal habitation.
VOC is a much better sensor for air quality.

CO2 detects breathing but not air quality. The current trend in
cheap commercial systems is to try to meet the letter of the law and
that is so much fresh air PER PERSON, but it entirely avoids actual
    air quality as a measurement.

The engineers who looked at this found out the about 80% of the
pollutants in a building are from sources other than people.
ie: copy machines, and laser printers, adhesives from carpets, glue,
even paint drying. CO won't tell you how much you stink after a
workout, but it will tell you how much air you're using.

And they should be in the $250 and up price range. The main criteria
to really check out after sensitivity is long term drift. They
require a special gas to calibrate and there are units that drift in
a matter of a few months.

Unfortunately, you pretty much get what you pay for. The $1,000
units have much better long term spec's. Very few 'cheap' units
    offer really good spec's.

And definitely don't use chemical diffusion units, the replacement
sensor costs are high, use the IR type as the sensor is all
    electronic and only requires calibration.

We use CO2 sensors that put out a 0-10VDC signal that represents a 0-2000
ppm reading. There are other ranges and outputs available. We use them to
determine how much fresh air to bring into a space in a HVAC system.

    Try:
    www.kele.com
    or
    www.veris.com

They typically run about $200-$500 depending on the features.

Depending on the quality you need, there are some homeowner grade
sensors available from first alert. The majority of these are one time
use sensors, there is a chemical sensor, that reacts with CO2 and
changes color. But there are reusable models that read out ppm (unsure
of the scale.) These cost around $50-$80. I belive first alert makes
these. These have an LED display that gives the current and max
    readings.

To interface with a stamp, you can read the signals on the LED display.
there may be a point inside that can read an analog, or more concise
    digital display.
