Boiler run time

Hello to the group.
I have a need to monitor the boiler on (run) time of 3 boilers.
I have at my disposal a stamp2, 2 line LCD display, and a Pocket watch as
the RTC. The run time of each boiler is inputted to the stamp2 via a
switch
closure from each boiler. Any or all three boilers can start together or
separately.
The problem is how do I deal with handling the time. I am thinking of
putting the 3
switches in a loop and posting the time of a closure(s) to a variable(s)
when it occurs.
Upon the boiler(s) going off to again retrieve the time. What is a simple
way of
subtracting the start and stop times of each event? I don't have to be
concerned with
seconds and the run time from a cold start would be less then 15 minutes.
Any input will
be greatly appreciated.
