Zodiac GPS Receivers

To all,
I bought a few of these receivers from Timeline for evaluation. Has anyone
had any luck in implementing the Zodiac binary communication protocol with
a Stamp or Pic. This seems to be the only way to reconfig this receiver,
NMEA is not enough.
