Stepper motor controller IC

Hi,

I'm trying to find a stepper motor controller IC for a 4 phase motor. I've
looked at radio shack and farnell but could not find any. Are there any
good sources for these types of chips which work well with the BSII?

Thanks,
Alex

Try www.elabinc.com. Look at the EDE1200 ( Unipolar Stepper Driver) BS2
programming samples also come with the IC.

You might like this site. It has a simple tutorial on steppers.

I have not come across any stamp related stepper controllers, but I
woudl be interested to hear about such a set-up.

Seattle Robotics has some good stepper material and simple programs. Also,
the Stamp manuals have good explanations of stepper driving. Once you see
the logic sequences needed, it is easy to write your own code for a Stamp.

I have used the L293D (very easy to interface) and the L298 (harder to set
up, but capable of 2 amps per coil) with great success. Got mine from
mouser, but many people carry them.
