TWS/RWS 434 RF Not working

Hello,

I'm having trouble getting the TWS434 and the RWS434 RF
transmitter/receiver working properly. I can use the linear output
from the receiver and get a signal but I cannot get the data outputs
with the Holtek 12E/D ic to work properly.

Here's how I have the transmitter connected with the HT12E ic.

Pin 01: +voltage (Address 0)
Pin 02-08: empty
Pin 09: GND
Pin 10: GND (Data 0)
Pin 11-13: empty
Pin 14: GND
Pin 15-16:750K resistor
Pin 17: To pin 6 of transmitter (TWS 434)
Pin 18: VCC

Here's how I have the receiver connected with the HT12D ic.

Pin 14: To pin 2 of (RWS 434) DIN
Pin 01: +voltage (Address 0)
Pin 02-08: empty
Pin 10: A Positive leg of LED is connected (Data 0)
Pin 11-13: empty
Pin 15-16: 33K resistor
Pin 17: empty (VT)
Pin 09: GND
Pin 18: VCC

Again, the linear output from the receiver's pin 3 works for me. I
get a signal and I am able to connect a led to it and it will light
up. But what I really need is the data output which will distguish
between signals.

If anyone can see the error of my ways, I would appreciate any help!!

Thanks,
DJ

    DJ,

The outputs of the HT-12E do not provide enough drive current
to directly operate an LED. These outputs can only provide
    up to 1.6mA @5-V, or 5mA @10-V.

Please use the drive transistor schematics provided with the
TWS/RWS for connection of the receiver decoder outputs.
We have schematics for several driver circuits at the following
    page: http://www.rentron.com/rf_remote_control.htm

A quick method to check transmission/reception is to remove the
loads from all outputs on the decoder IC, and use a logic probe to
verify operation of the decoder outputs D0-D3.

    Remember:

With the TE pin #14 of the encoder HT-12E connected to ground, you
will have continuous transmissions. Using this method connecting D0
on the 12E to ground will take D0 on the 12D to ground. Once you
release the push-button connecting D0 on the 12E to ground, the D0
output on the 12D will change to logic 1.

You can use the TE pin with another switch to initiate each transmission
when TE is connected to ground, or leave the TE pin connected to ground
    for continuous transmissions.

If you need assistance with your circuit, I'll be happy to walk you through
from square-one to get your application up & going. Just drop me a line
