Pieter,
Yes it is very easy to use Windows 95 Hyperterminal to view and store
Stamp EEPROM data. I just run the Hyperterminal program and set it up
with the following settings. When you are ready to download the data
choose TRANSFER and then CAPTURE TEXT from the menu bar. Then name a file
where you want to store the data. Or you can just download the data and
it will scroll on the screen.
HYERTERMINAL SETTINGS:
Direct to Com 1
9600 Bits per second
8 Data bits
No parity
1 Stop Bit
No Flow Control
VT110 Emulation (not sure if this is necessary)
ASCII Receiving- check "Append line feeds to incoming line ends"
If you are using a Parallax Basic Stamp bread board you don't need to make
any mods to the cable. If you are using your own home-made cable be sure
to have a 0.1uf capacitor in series between the PC DTR line (DB9 Pin4) and
the Stamp ACK line (BS2 pin 3). Also put a 0.1uf capacitor directly
between the Stamp ACK line (BS2 pin 3) and ground. This is outlined on
page 308 of the Stamp manual.
