Need Advice on Removable Storage Media....

I'm looking for a way to store data on a removeable type of media,
like a form of disk, so that I can remove it from my project, bring
it home, and download it to my computer. I've looked at SmartMedia,
CompactFlash, and the MultiMediaCard, but have not seen any projects
where these have been used before. I'm new to microcontrollers, so
any information or other similar projects would be appreciated.
