Hi
I now this is not really basic stamp related, but has anyone got any
information on setting up servomotors to control movements for eyes.
The eyes need to move in both vertically and horizontally. At the
moment i can't configure them to move them both simultaneously. any
ideas.
Thanks.

i did something similar for halloween, for the eyes i attached four
lengths of nylon bass line at 90 degrees of each other around the
circumference of the eyes, for a socket (this might be difficult if you
don't have access to a machine shop or drill press of some kind) i got
two pieces of delron round stock about 1/2 an inch in diameter, using a
round end end mill with the same radius i milled a socket about 0.100"
deep the flipped the piece and drilled and tapped some mounting holes,
the socket mounted horizontally on a plate with the servos behind it and
some guide post to run the fishing twine back to the servo horns, the
tension on the fishing line kept the eyes in their sockets.
regarding your exacte question. No details, but a few pictures to get you
going in the right direction. I myself will be using his idea.

Consider using the mechanical principal of an old XY joystick. Replace the
pots with servos, remove the joystick handle leaving only the pivoting ball
( the eyeball ). Of course you'll need to scale up the idea to fit your
project,
but I think the basic idea should work. Good luck.

the mechanics you need to do this. (if you don't, check out the online
surplus arena, or even buy a couple of cheap ones at best-buy...) Note,
these have to be joysticks that move smoothly over both axis. the
original atari joysticks would not work for this.
Here's how it works: you open the joystick, inside, you'll see to
potentiometers. you remove the pots, and connect the output of your
servos to where the pots hooked up the mechanical assembly. now if you
move one of the servos, the joystick should move in one of the two axis.
you place your 'eye' where the handle hooks up the assembly.
If you need better detail, please ask. i can better explain with more
sleep, or more caffine.
