Detect Sound in BS2

I tried different things. One was using LM386. But, I could not get
it to work well. May be I'm doing something wrong.
Could anybody please help with a schematic and how to interface with
BS2 ?
Thx in advance for all your help

Hi Jack,
When I started using LM386, I had a few glitches with it. I just recently figured with some compromise, I could get away with a simple R/C circuit by using a· cap and a resisor and by using the RCtime.
In my project, I check for sound every few cycles. I stop for a few seconds, check for sound and take action. For this, I thought I would not need to use a LM386.
Please look at my site for the schema and code. I put these up there just now so that some of us could use it. Please let me know if you have any questions. If I can answer, I shall - otherwise, we'll both learn.

I know this is not the best of ways to detect sound. At least, it is easy and keeps my robot's size really small.
Thanks

I'm glad.
I think I'll use the same logic in my other similar projects as well - unless of course somebody comes up with a better and simpler idea.
See, in my project ALIBE, I want to detect sound - what I mean by it is, I want to see fluctuations of RCTime from my MIC. If I placed ALIBE in a space where there is a STATIC sound (something that goes like mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm for example), I'd like to consider that being silence - since there is no fluctuation - even though there is "noise" in the environment. THis will work okay for me too.
Thanks for letting me know
