Better Software Development Environment

People have decoded the "compiled" byte code for each of the
instructions. But I do not know if any accomidations have been made for a
low level language. Methinks that since C/C++ rely heavily on pointers, etc
this does not fit at all within the archecture of the PBASIC language. If
you would like C tools look at the Scinex SX "SX TECH" serries chips.
Parallax has a C compilier for that serries...

Wondering if there are any good alternative development environments for
the BSII that any of you recommend? I'm thinking someone must have come up
with a {C/C++/Java}-ish alternative that emits PBASIC source code or tokens.
PBASIC is not adequate for complex or lengthy multi-module programs (such
as on the sx)--hard to write with high cohesion and low coupling, and even
harder to maintain. Any help on the horizon?
Rich
