Servo and/or Motor control question

Hello,
I'm interested in exploring the use of a servo with
the Parallax Stamp. Could anybody:
1) Point me to some good tutorials?
2) Inform me of the cheapest place to purchase servos
for simple experimentation purposes?
ALSO I eventually want to work with motors, if anyone
has suggestions on learning more about Stamp / Motor
integration, please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Todd

Hi Todd,
goto Parallax's web site to download the robotics manual at their download page.
http://www.parallaxinc.com/html_files/downloads/download.htm
This will give you a very good understanding of the servos and how they work with BS-II.
I do not know much abt interfacing motors with servos. Sorry no info from me there :(

The Stamp manual (download from Parallax) has a BS1 experiment called "Fun
With Trains." It shows how to do software PWM (not the built-in PWM command)
to control a DC motor through a high-current driver (like the ULN2003). I've
used it to control small DC motors.

noticing this month that the project of the month started in December of
1997! Time flies when you are having fun (or is that Time Flies Like an
Arrow? Fruit Flies Like a Banana? I always get those mixed up).
The project is always at http://www.al-williams.com/awce/som.htm

Hello Todd,
I have just started experimenting with servos myself. Al Williams
has been a great help and has much info as well as products to help
you with your stamping projects.
As far as finding deals on servos, try www.balsapr.com! I was able
to find a standard servo for about $8.00 with a futaba connector, I
think the product number was bp148 standard. For small projects I
think it's a great deal.
Good luck!
Frank G.
Thanks for your advice, I really appreicate it. And
thanks to all who responded back!
Best of Regards,
Todd
