remote control using holtek encoder??

Hello,

I am trying to put together a schematic
of a remote control using a holtek ht-12e,
and between the osc1 and osc2 pins, this
schematic calls for a 750k resister?

Does this have to be 750k, or will perhaps
a 1meg work, or some other large value?

What's going on when you see this sort of thing,
'osc1' and 'osc2', This is an onboard oscillator right?

Thanks

You can substitute the 750K with the 1M resistor, but try
to use a 62K with the HT-12D decoder IC.

The recommended oscillator resistor values are:

    HT-12E 750K when used with the HT-12D 33K or
    HT-12E 1.1M when used with the HT-12D 62K

The osc1 is the oscillator input-pin. Osc2 is the oscillator
output-pin. The oscillator resistors can be %5 tolerance,
and matching the recommended values as closely as possible
is a good idea for optimal performance.

If you're far off, you'll throw the encoder/decoder pair out of
    synch.
