Need gyro sensor

I am designing a "roswell flyer" clone/upgrade

I need three gyros - not the kind that go between a receiver and a servo - I
need just the sensor element and possibly signal conditioning -

If you have seen such thing then please send me some information

I dont know if I want a rate gyro or an angular accelerometer - please tell
me you thoughts - one way or the other

thanks

(yes - this is another stamp project)

A rate sensor (angular velocity) would be my choice. But if you are willing
to integrate angular acceleration once to obtain angular velocity, take a look a
a chip by Measurement Systems, listed under accelerometers in the DigiKey
catalog. It offers 3 linear accelerometer channels, plus an angular channel
obtained differentially. I haven't tried it, yet.
Murata makes a 1-gram single-axis angular velocity sensor, but they are hard
to obtain. I finally have samples, and will have to commit to quantities of 100
or so to use in a commercial application. Even then, there is a 5-month wait.
Note that there are "A" and "B" configurations. To use 2 of them on the same
board, you have to use an A and a B, not 2 As or 2 Bs. But a 1-gram sensor is
fantastic for my application, so my order is placed. If you need a few (in
about 5 months), contact me off list.
Watson Industries makes a good-quality rate sensor, and I have a lot of
experience with them. The downside is that they are relatively large, and cost
    about $700 (single axis), or $2500 (3-axes).
