RE: [basicstamps] modifying servos

It is a simple but detailed process. Please go to the stamps in class site at http://www.stampsinclass.com and go to the downloads section and download the What's a Microcontrol PDF document. This document has a section that details how this can be done. Hope this helps.

just did this from an article in aerial eye (now out of print). You need 1/4
watt 5k multi turn cermit pot to replace the on the servo. Easy job.

RE: [basicstamps] modifying servos
Most of the small hobby servos are rated 60 degrees although you can jack 80 or so out of them. To get continuous 360 takes a mechanical and electronic fix. I haven't scene an inexpensive one out there (< $15). People are modifying them all the time. I'm not into PWM yet but you can guess that sending it a steady signal lets the servo take off without a stopping point.

We have some detailed instructions for modifying a similar servo on the
Downloads page of www.stampsinclass.com. Take a look at our Robotics! v1.3
text, Chapter #1, Activity #2, #3, and #4.

I actually meant, Robotics document and not the What's a Microcontroller.
