i will keep all of you informed. But at a small price. Im going to need help
with schematics and programs for operating systems.
Anyone know where i can get temp sensors that run into the 800deg. F
range???? And i need to create a program and schematics for it.
Also, anyone know how to use the plot lite or plot pro??? I want to color
code my data and give it labels. Any clue anyone ?
In other words your scratch my back i will scratch yours.

I first purchased a small used turbine at a salvage yard. Considering i have
a 90 eagle talon that is turbine equipped i decided to buy a turbine that i
knew. So i picked on up at the salvage yard from a mitsubitshi motor. You
can get these turbines off of plymouth lasers, talons, or eclipses. For some
reason people like to wreck these cars and there are plenty of good turbines
in the yards. I paid 35 for mine. Next you have to strip it, clean it and
keep the housing for it. You need this to create an inlet so use the one
that you paid for already. It has to be turned down. I will post pics and
more information in a couple of days. I will also post equations and
formulas for developing your own motors. Bill

Check out www.omega.com for thermocouple wire and assemblies. They make a
variety of different configurations and temp ranges and then using an AD594
(Type J) or AD595 (Type K) chip to an A/D converter should get the data you
need. In that temp range a type J thermocouple should get very accurate
    readings. Good luck!

    Well yes aunt Bea,
It is a turbo charger but a turbo charger is comprised of a turbine and a
compressor and the shaft that holds them together. (Without getting
    technical!!) LOL

    Hey Mathew,
Thanks for the advice. next question, is it small or large these
pyrometers?????? I need a pretty small sensor. The turbine is only 9 inches
    long. Bill

    Fernando,
If you cant find a Garette these are pretty close. About
6 mm difference. You have to modify any plans that you have if you have any
plans. If not then it's close enough for the price. Bill

Ummmm....I think you must mean Turbo Charger...not Turbine. Still sounds
    like an interesting project.

I am interested in purchasing three of these turbo's.
Can you give me the name and adress of the wrecker.

Are these the equvalent of Garette T25 Turbos?

I am using the turbo for a different purpose. My car is normally
aspirated and I have turbocharged it. I built an extra injector
controller using the BS2. When I say the price you payed for the
turbo my mouth dropped. I am not from the states. Thats why I wanted the
name and address of the wrecker. I would purchase extra turbos to use as
    spare parts.

If I may jump in, I did a search and came up with two web sites regarding
converting a turbocharger into a stand-alone gas turbine engine.

    They are:

    <http://www.cbjet.clara.co.uk/dtt/dttmk2.html>

Check your local Heavy Truck dealership. A Pyrometer for a truck usually
measures between 300 - 1400 deg F. The sensors tap into the casing of the
turbo. I am sure you can read the sensor with the BSII and an ADC.

What kind of fuel do you propose to use?

Yes they are fairly small depending on the maker: 1/4" in diameter x 1/2"
    l0 long.

You can get these Pyro' sensors from a truck wrecker too.
