How about a NNTP:SMTP gatewary? was: Re: [basicstamps] [OT] Newsgroup ??

Howdy all!
Though I lurk and learn, I have an idea for this idea/problem.
Why not make an NNTP:SMTP gateway? (run on the NNTP server). It will email
the list with anything that goes to the newsgroup, and also get anything
that comes from the email list. (but I believe you can set filters so that
you don't get a flood attack from it.)
I am on another list that we do use a gateway. (though it's broken right
now due to a server change, it will be fixed soon)
If you need help/contact info for someone who has done this, I might be
able to get them to get ahold of you.
