Hi there,

I have read somewhere that one can use the Basic Stamp to send MIDI message but
not to receive them.
Any explanation ?

Thanks

It's because the serial input of the basic stamp is unbuffered and
it's possible you'll miss data while you are processing the data
    you've already received.

A simple solution would be to use an RS232 buffer between the MIDI channel
    and the stamp.
