This MAY help:
http://www.keyence.com/faq/barcodefaq.htm
Not sure if it's detailed enough. Other sites are available - worldwide.

tried the serin command, but all i get is jumble. Has anyone ever
done this? Can anyone offer some advice on what i need to look at,
determine, or persue in order for this to work? The scanner is made
by keyence, model number bl-781.
Thankyou you in advance..
It is just a PS/2 interface that acts as a pass through for your keyboard.
You can just have the stamp act like it is accepting keyboard input and you
are fine.

PLEASE HELP! I ORDERED A HEWLETT-PACKARD HBCS-A300 AND AM UNABLE TO GET IT
TO WORK SENSIBLY. I BELIEVE THE OUTPUT SHOULD BE A ONE IF THE DOT IS ON
NON-REFLECTIVE COLOR (BLACK) AND A ZERO IF THE DOT IS ON A REFLECTIVE COLOR
(WHITE). DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH A "WAND". I BELIEVE THIS IS
DIFFERENT THAN THE FREE SCANNER FROM RADIO SHACK IN THE FACT THAT THE RADIO
SHACK WAND SCANS ALL THE BARS AT THE SAME TIME?
THANKS,
DAVID FIXEMER

Go to Radio Shack and get one of the free bar code scanners they have there.
It is just a PS/2 interface that acts as a pass through for your keyboard.
You can just have the stamp act like it is accepting keyboard input and you
are fine.
