I have built 2 Wedge kits and find them to be an excellent product. They
have a larger regulator, reset button, and on/off power switch. Also, Bruce
at Rentron is helpful and responsive to email questions.

the product. One feature that I especially like is that you
can just plug it into a solderless breadboard. That feature
makes it a very useful device.
Also, I had pulled apart some old IBM PC's, (pre-XT's)
and I use the .1" header connectors.
The layout is straightforward and it offers the possible
CPU replacement.
In my current design, I'm laying out the PC pboard for
a BS2, and am using a prom carrier, To test, I'll be using the
Wedge, then I'll put in a Stamp. My space is severely limited
and it's going into an existing case or else I'd be using the
Wedge all the way.
If you're looking to save some money and still get into Stamping
you might also check out Anderson's page. He offers a kit
for a good price, but with a text only page and no photos
I chose to use the Wedge.
As you can tell, I'm very happy with it.
A note about Bruce's page, he offers quite a few sample
Stamp based programs to let you experiment a little.
