12 bit ADC Help Please

Hi,
I've been using a national 8 bit adc0831 adc to read voltages into my
stamp 2, but am now trying to use the national adc12138 12bit 8 chan
adc.
I have bought the chip, tried a few thing but really don't know what
to do to make it work. As i'm not a genius I would be grateful if
anyone could help by leaving a code example for me (and others).
I would like to use the full 8 channels, and all the inputs have the
same comon wire (which is connected to the Com pin).
