Overvoltage protection

Hi all,

I'd like to install a simple overvoltage protection for my Stamp. I know the
7805 voltage regulator is very reliable, but everything may happen...
I tried to put a 5V6 zener diode on the power supply, just after a 100 mA
quick fuse. I mesured up to 7 volts accross the diode before the fuse goes
to the fuse's heaven...
I need something acting very fast, and around 5.5 volt.
Any idea would be welcome !

Best regards,

Philippe Derenne

You really don't need this , but you could use a voltage monitor IC.

    Hello A.C.Jacques

Someone (phillips) makes a series that will do this. They are made for cars,
and will kill the output under a lot of condictions. Can't remember the series.
