I've seen something about a scope program for a sound card, and I think you
must connect the signal to the line input of your soundcard. It's a stereo
input, so you should get 2 channels. Be sure not to overload your card's
input !
Where did you get Winscope ?

the line in on the sound card and used a 10K pot to adjust the line level.
Start with the pot cranked to the full resistance and then back it down
until you get the signal level you want.
You have to make sure that the line input on your soundcard is enabled in
the windows mixer also.

I have just built a osscilisope for my PC
It uses a sound card pre amp which I plug cro leads into BNC plugs (left and
Right channel on sound card)
This then uses winscope to display two waveforms
Works great and at a fraction of the cost of a "real" scope
Check out :-
www.dse.com.au for Soundcard pre amp Kit - K7347
or
www.jaycar.com.au for Kit KA1811 (same as above)
Does any body know of a PC controlled (windows) adjustable wave form
generator?
Hope this helps

folder called Sweepgen.zip.
It is a windows based signal generator. You can use it to drive Winscope or
to inject a signal into your circuit.

I tried the winscope, only with a stereo microphone, no aditional hardware.
It works great!!
BUT pay attention to WARNING´s! Specially if the sound card is integrated to
motherboard, it can be fried if signals inputs are greater than 2 Volts.
Good practice: Use a potential divider made with a 10 K pot for each
channel, same ground for both pot´s and start with a minimum output voltage
from pot, as Tim posted in their mail.
TIM:
After half an hour of surfing at mntnweb.com, looking for their FTP site, I
could´n found it. Neither the ParallaxStamp folder. I would appreciate if
you can send me (off the list) the Sweepgen.zip file.
Thank you very much
Jorge
