1X16 Dot Matrix connection with 74HC595

I believed that the BS2 can be connected to a 1X16 Dot Matrix display
and it is possible to use a 74HC595 to save I/O lines. I cannot find
anywhere the circuit diagram and the code to run the configuration.
Is anyone could either point to me where I can find this or send me
the file as an attachment at my e-mail techchem@i...
