Hay all you stampers,
Was wondering if any of you new how to connect the analog version of the
sharp ranger to a stamp 2? I tried hooking it straight in and used RCtime
but got randum nubers, I know I proboly have to add a cap , but wasnt sure
what value? Any suggestions?
Thanx in advance!

I don't know the nature of RC time to precisely, but I am sure it's not an
A/D, which is what you would need. hook an external A/D up to the stamp and
read the value from that. you should be able to buy a 8-bit A/D for next to
nothing. They should also be very easy to interface.

In order to read an analog value into a Stamp you need an external
Analog to Digital (A/D) converter. The RCTime command will not
    work.

You can either add an A/D (Parallax has an AppKit on the
LTC1298 A/D which comes with code and everything) or you can
look at one of our IRODS or DIRRS kits that connect directly to a
Stamp. These are essentially the same device, but with built-in A/D
    converters. Details at: http://www.hvwtech.com/sensors.htm
