Thanks guys..
last night I actually wired up a small pcb with a socket for the bs2 and leads
for all the i/o pins..

I used an old com port from a pentium mb for communications..

this way, I can use more of my breadboard..

I do have a few questions though..

can I set up a switch for the reset, the same as for an i/o pin?
(1k resistor to keep it high until the switch grounds the pin?)

unregulated voltage? can I just hook up a 9v battery + to this pin?
what kind of heat will this generate? or should I just go with a 7805 and some
caps to the regulated +5v pin?

Thanks!

Sean

    *** Yes

*** NO! Use regulated 5 volts to avoid smoke.

    *** A 7805 should work.

    Good luck,

    Cool..

Where do you get the sip sockets? I've been looking around for them
for a while and the RSs near me don't have anything close..

    Thanks

By me there is Active Electronics. I am sure you can get them mail order
from All, Hosfelt, jameco or RadioShack online.
