Hello,

What is a good piece of software that can design,
and possibly simulate circuits?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

The CircuitMaker program has powerful simulation capabilities
along with all the usual schematic drawing and PCB layout with
    autorouter.

We haven't updated our web page for the new version yet, but you
can go straight to the CircuitMaker home page at:
    http://www.circuitmaker.com

Do you have URL's on these companies?

    Thanks -

    Mike -

    Check these sites -

    http://www.crocodile-clips.com/education/

    various simulation and freeware/shareware packages;
    SPICE is among them:

There' also "Electronics Workbench", I believe - never used it myself,
just Spice, for school. I like to see the sparks ;^)

    Mike:

I personally use CircuitMaker Pro and TraxMaker Pro, they are both extremely
powerful and a very good value. If you don't need the professional features
or are just doing hobbyist type circuits the regular package(s) of this
software are also quite powerful and they are very nicely priced. The regular
packages are, I believe, still under $300.00 each. The professional suite
which includes both software packages in the professional versions is under
$2000.00 still I think. However to double check please go to
    www.circuitmaker.com and check it out.

CircuitMaker has digital and analog simulation abilities along with the SPICE
simulation and test capabilities. You have virtual test instruments such as
    an O'scope, voltage probe etc.

Also there is a support list like the basic stamp list for additional support.

    Regards,
    Randy A.

VAMP has released a free version of McCAD EDS lite:
    http://www.mccad.com/FREEMACSTUFF.html

" This is a fully operational EDA design system
    which will actually produce maufacturable
outputs. It includes a Schematic Capture module,
a PCB Layout module, a Gerber Tranlator
Module and a robust set of Library symbols and
footprints. An abrieveated users manual is also
provided in PDF format. This LITE version has
net, pin and board size limits."

One nice thing about it is that it is available for both Windoze and Mac.
I've been using their packages ($$ version) on the Mac for years.
