Industrial Control Now Available

Hello,

There's a new document available as part of our educational program Stamps
in Class. It's entitled "Industrial Control" (198 pp.) and is written by
Marty Hebel and Will Devenport of Southern Illinois University. The text
teaches the basics of process control, including on-off, differential gap,
and PID. This is done using a desktop model, but you can apply the same
principles to high voltage. You can find it at www.stampsinclass.com.

Industrial Control uses StampPlot Lite. If you haven't already experimented
with StampPlot Lite, this is an excellent opportunity. I couldn't imagine
the Industrial Control text without StampPlot. Numbers rolling down the blue
debug screen just doesn't compare to StampPlot's graphic and datalogging
capabilities. Thanks to www.selmaware.com StampPlot Lite is available for
free download. Their S-Plot Pro version is probably now finalized and
available, and features far more than the Lite version in terms of display
and logging capabilities.

Industrial Control 1.0 is a first draft, but has been reviewed and tested by
Parallax, the authors, editors, and some customers. Of course, the potential
for errors still exists, either introduced by Parallax during editing or
overlooked by the authors. If you encounter errors send them to
stampsinclass@p....

The text costs $19.00, but is also available for free download. The parts
are $29.00, but many could assemble them from their own junk bin.

Best of luck!

umm, "junk" bin may be a poor choice of words for something you're charging
    $29 for :)

    Jason:

I would say most of us spend more than $29.00 on parts that end up getting
knocked off our work benches so I don't think "junk" is such a bad term after
    all.
    :-)

I know lots of folks who refer to there 'junk bin' as their '$100
box' because that is a CONSERVATIVE estimate of what it would cost to
replace a few of those things with 'off the shelf' items.

(I've heard that there might be a few folks who don't have extensive
'junk bins', but I try avoid them.)
