Another newbie question......I realy wish I could contribute more.
Perhaps in the future as I gain experience.
Here's the problem....
I need to take audio output and turn it into servo movements. I need to
synchronize sound with what will be animatronic jaw movements. Also
need to record "movements" with a pot into nonvolatile memory and replay
to another servo.
Must be able to set travel limits and sensitivity.
Any suggestions??

Check with Scott Edwards. He wrote an article some time back to construct a
servo recorder and playback device. He may even offer a kit.

Rus,
Laser light shows do this by servo controlling mirrors that reflect laser
beams in synch with audio frequencies. Your application requires much less
bandwidth. It would require first low-pass filtering the audio with a
simple RC circuit, and using the filtered signal to drive the jaw. Although
the RC filter would introduce a slight phase (timing) delay, I suspect that
this would not be apparent to the viewer.

A speech-recording chip would be an easy approach.

The Stamp application notes on servos are a good resource.

sounds like a great little project!
I'm not sure how you want to attack the problem, or how accurately you want
the servo to follow the audio, but here's a link to a circuit that I found
useful for detecting the beat of music. maybe you can modify it to give an
input to the stamp when someone is talking.
