V2X and the ADXL202 question

I have been giving some thought to the problem of the Vector compass tilt
sensitivity as I am in the midst of a project that uses the V2X and the
ADXL202. Is it possible to correct the V2X for tilt using the tilt
information from the ADXL202? In other words, make an elecronic gimble
system? If this were possible it would solve quite a few problems for me. I
suspect this is not possible because of the way the V2X measures heading by
actually measuring the strength of the earth's magnetic flux. Any thoughts
would be appreciated. Feel free to answer me directly if this is getting too
off topic.

TIA

Vic

    I don't know what a v2x is but I have built several proj using the adxl02 -
works great - but may be a problem at extremely small amounts of tilt - but
then that is when you may not need it - right ?
