Thanks. I'm already using opto's for control of 120V relay coils. I
should have been more clear. My focus is on Phase angle firing of
the SCR's with the stamp output. I would like to accomplish this
with single phase and three phase back-to-back SCR arrangements. Is
this an unusual application for a stamp?

If you intend to use the SCR for 110VAC, I would highly
recommend using an
opto-isolator made for driving SCRs & triacs. You can get them
in 1, 2 or 4
per DIP package and they are cheap. They usually offer about
3000 volts of
isolation to protect your Stamp or other low voltage
circuitry. They are
packaged so that the input and output are on opposite sides of
the package.
If you plan to make a PCB using these, it is usually a good idea to
use
this arrangment to keep all low voltage on one side and the
high voltage on
the other side of the board.
