Regarding Ming RF Modules

Thank you to those that have responeded to my intial post. What I am
really interested in is how this could be acomplished. It there a
particular protocol to use that works best? I only need to transmit
about 10 to 20 feet and the most. Any help would be greatly
apprciated.

Do need to send RS232 data, or just some commands. We plan to build a
remote using Rentron's "Firestick" IR tx/rx modules. They have ~ 100' range
and are not fussy about accurate aiming, especially at close range. They
have a 4 bit output and can send up to 15 unique commands. They give
reliable communications because they use Holtek coders/decoders. If you
only need commands, they are great.

Just a thought: Have you experimented with various (slower) baud rates?
Slow might work better?
