Without predjudice - apologies for duplications. All addresses came from my

informal, irregular distribution of a global, general interest, topic.
Please press DELETE if you have no interest in a "bleeding edge" Internet

Government Plans Computer Lock-Down
Attacks are rising, but U.S. computer chiefs have a plan to make the net safe
for e-government.

Washington--
Key U.S. government Chief Information Officers said Wednesday that a
comprehensive
computer security plan to be released this summer will clear the way for a
new wave of government functions and services to be safely put on the
Internet.
.....
Last month, the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee approved the
Government Information Security Act, after hearing testimony from federal
computer security experts and hacker Kevin Mitnick. The legislation would
require agencies to submit to an annual independent audit of their information
security programs and practices.

This article and others can be found at securityfocus.com. "Bleeding edge"
news
on security issues. Better websites may exist <shrug>. Feedback on same
would be appreciated, particularly other security issue websites which
offer listserver summaries on current Internet security issues. IMHO, this
site lacks a quality web presentation; YMMV. My own interest goes beyond
virus announcements.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
