Problem with serial port and my BS2

I use the BS2 for the first time. I have plugged my BS2 in the serial
port Com 2 (25 pins) and I use an adaptor (25 pins to 9 pins) to plug
in my carrier board.
So all the time I receive the same error message:"Basic Stamp ll
detected but not responding on Com 2....Check your power supplied"
The battery is new, the shop assistant check my computer and every
thing is ok.

operate correctly. Many adapters do not present DTR correctly. Also if the
adapter crosses RX and TX it will not work.
Your english is fine.
