BS2 problems

Hey all,
I'm going to sell one of my BS2 and I'm testing it out to see if it
works. I've tried a 9v battery run down to about 5v. I get a "hardware not
responding", then I hooked up two run down 9v up to get 10.5v. I hook that
up and I still get the "hardware not responding" error. The funny thing is
that when I checked the voltage at the "+" and "-" terminals of the stamp,
the DMM showed the voltage go from about 6v and then kept decreasing to
about 3v and I took off the power. What's happening? I really want to sell
this thing! I haven't used it in a while. Also, if any of pins 1 - 4 (sdout
through vss) were shorted together for a short time (1-2 second) would that
do bad things?

Try a fresh battery with a full 9-volts, or a well regulated 5 volt supply.
Even though it shows 5-volts on a run-down 9-volt battery, it will quickly
drop to nill once you apply a load.
